Reports:

Treasurer ...……………………………..…...….…………..…… Steve Smith

Steve emailed me with the report. We have $733.03 in the checking account as of Monday. Steve and Dick Clark went to former member’s funeral and left a check for $35.00 from the Chapter. This was cleared with the board. Money collected from the BBQ and given to Robert Cruz was turned back to the chapter for use as we would determine. This was over $100.00.

Unfinished Business:

WEB Site ………………………………………………… Bob Burns

We have one for sale item still on the site. I am unaware if it has had any activity. We welcome any item you want to list. I am slowly getting members bios and photos on the member’s area. Any suggestions welcomed.

Lords Diner ………………………..…………………………………David Keene

David brought up the Lords Diner with a question of the Food Handlers Permit training requirement. Bob Burns did not have the answer at the time however after the meeting found the following:

Food Handlers Classes

Food Handlers Classes will be held on the first and third Saturday of each month at 8:30 AM and again at 12:30 PM and on the first and third Monday of each month at 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM. In the event that a holiday falls on a regularly scheduled class day, the class will be moved to the following week. This will NOT change the other regularly scheduled class. If a holiday falls on the first Monday of the month this will be considered a holiday weekend and the Saturday and Monday class will be held on the following, or second Saturday and Monday. The third Monday class will take place as scheduled, on the third Monday. The same is true for the Saturday classes.

Classes last approximately two and a half hours; students need only attend one session; advance registration/reservation not needed.  There is no fee for taking the class. Spanish-speaking classes are held four (4) times a year and a sign language interpretor can be arranged when necessary. Classes are held in the auditorium at the City of Wichita Department of Environmental Services, 1900 E. 9th Street, Wichita, KS 67214. Please use the parking lot east of the building and use the east entry door by the flagpole.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (316) 268-8351.

This only pertains to those handling the food. They also need people to clean off the tables. Thanks Dave..

New Business:

Christmas meeting:

It was suggested we have a gift (cheap and funny) exchange for our December meeting. If anyone has any ideas let Bob Burns know.

Next Meeting…………………………………….…….…. Bob Burns

Brian Smith suggested a restaurant in Oxford Kansas. He readily agreed to check into it and report back. The date will be October 22 (Saturday). We will meet at the training center in Wichita at noon for the trip south. A schedule of stops will be made available prior to the trip.
